Application Question Builder: What’s New and How It Affects Your Events

The Application Question Builder is officially live! This long-requested feature gives event organizers more flexibility and control over how vendor applications are structured and managed.


This article explains what’s new, how existing events are affected, and what (if anything) you need to do.


What is the Application Question Builder?


The Application Question Builder allows you to create reusable sections and questions for your vendor applications. You can control how questions are grouped, how vendors respond, and which questions are required—all from a single centralized location.


This feature was developed to be:

  • Powerful, yet easy to use
  • Flexible enough for different event types
  • Reusable across multiple events


Impact on Your Existing Events


With the launch of the Application Question Builder, there is a small transition in how applications are handled. This only affects certain events, depending on when they were created.

Please review the sections below to see how this applies to you.


Current Published Events

No impact. No action required.


If your event is already published, it will continue to function exactly as it does today.


Events in Draft Mode

(Created Before February 1, 2026)

For draft events created before February 1, 2026, any previously added sections and questions may no longer appear in the application.


What to Do

  • Click Preview Application to confirm whether sections are missing
  • If they are missing, contact support and we will reattach the appropriate sections and questions


Important: No data has been deleted. The sections and questions were simply detached from the draft event.


New Events Cloned from Past Events

(Past Events Created Before February 1, 2026)


Previously, cloning a past event automatically duplicated all sections and questions. With the new Application Question Builder, this behavior has changed.


If you clone an event that was created before today, you now have two options:


  1. Attach existing sections and questions that already exist in your Application Question Builder
  2. Contact support, and we will make the appropriate sections and questions from the past event available to you


Recommendation

If you already have the necessary sections and questions saved in the Application Question Builder, attaching them is the fastest option. If not, our support team is happy to help.


Events Cloned from Events Created After February 1, 2026

No impact. No action required.


For events created after today, cloning works exactly as expected:

  • All sections and questions are cloned automatically
  • No additional steps are needed



Why This Change Was Necessary


Previously, cloning events duplicated sections and questions every time, which often resulted in multiple copies of the same content (for example, Products & Services or Terms & Conditions).


The Application Question Builder introduces a new approach:

  • One reusable version of each section and question
  • Cleaner, more consistent applications
  • Less duplication and easier management

The new system was designed with three main goals in mind:

Create your own sections and questions and arrange them however you like.


Reusability

Use the same sections and questions across multiple events without rebuilding them each time.


Efficiency for Vendors

When vendors apply to multiple events, answers to previously completed questions can be automatically filled in—saving time and reducing friction.
