This article pertains to promoters / event organizers only.

When attempting to sign-up for a Stripe account using the same email address used to sign-up to BoothCentral, you may receive the following error:

An account already exists with this email. If you’d like to create a new Stripe account with the same email address, sign in and follow the instructions to manage multiple accounts.

While a Stripe Express account does exist and it is tied to your BoothCentral account, it is not possible to login to Stripe.com with that account directly, and you are also not able to create a standard Stripe account with that same email you used on BoothCentral.

Creating a Standard account

Because it is not possible to sign-up for a Stripe account with the same email address used with BoothCentral, to create a new Stripe account, you need to either:

Change the email on the Stripe account connected to BoothCentral or
Use a different email address for the new Stripe account.

Change email on your Stripe Express account connected to BoothCentral

Log into BoothCentral
Go to View Profile
Click on Access Stripe Merchant Dashboard
In the dashboard, click on Account tab, then "Edit email or mobile number"

Use a different email address to sign up for Stripe.

Simply use a different email to sign up for Stripe. If you don't have one, your email provider might be able to provide you with an email alias to use. Gmail supports aliases without any set up work!

With Gmail and many other email systems, the easiest way to create a unique email address for your new Stripe account is to add +stripe to your existing email.

For example, if your email address is name@example.com, you can use name+stripe@example.com. Email to either address will go to your main account.
