# Adding a Service Fee

When creating or editing your event, you have the option to add a **non-refundable Service Fee** to vendor applications. This allows you to collect an additional charge separate from the booth cost.

### Where to Add the Service Fee

Follow these steps:

1. Select your event.
2. Click **Edit Event**.
3. Open the **Booth Application** section.
4. Go to **Vendor Payments**.
5. Locate the **Service Fee** option.
6. Check the **Service Fee** box.
7. Choose your **Fee Type**.
8. Enter the corresponding amount(s).

### Service Fee Types

You can configure the Service Fee using one of the following options:

###### Fixed Amount
* A flat dollar amount added per approved vendor.
* Example: $10 per application.

###### Percentage
* A percentage calculated based on the vendor’s total payment.
* Example: 5% of the total cost of the application

###### Both Fixed & Percentage
* A combination of a flat amount **plus** a percentage of the total payment.
* Example: $5 + 3% of the total cost of the application
* Both amounts are applied once the vendor is approved.

|| Only one fee type selection can be applied per event configuration.

### Application Fee vs. Service Fee

These two fees function differently within the application process.

###### Application Fee
* Charged automatically when the vendor submits their application.
* Collected during the first payment.

###### Service Fee
* Charged only after the vendor is approved.
* Applies to all payment methods including credit card, check, cash, and other accepted types.
* Can be set as Fixed Amount, Percentage, or Both Fixed & Percentage.
* Non-refundable by default.

### What Vendors See

Once your event is published, vendors (Booth Hosts) will see the **Service Fee** displayed when completing their application.

If you deny an application:

* The vendor will not be charged.
